Nuchal Cord: Ritual and Routine
A session presented by cord-clamping.com for the 2012 Virtual International Day of the Midwife conference.
Hi there, I actually listened in on this presentation on the day and was blown away. I stopped checking for the nuchal cord a few years ago when I once cut and clamped a cord prior to birth and although babe was born immediately he still needed complete resuscitation. I was working with what I was taught and not with my intuition. Thankfully I now follow my intuition and not the flock. So anyway since listening to your presentation I started taking note of what other midwives and students were doing and although students are being taught not to check for nuchal cord the facilitators are still doing this. We have to be the change.
